Baby Bump at 17 Weeks

Here we go...since I don't have any good professional wedding pictures to share yet...we should be getting them in the next month...here is the first of our baby bump pictures.

As you can see our doggie is pretty excited about his new friend too!

I can't believe how quickly everything is happening.  It was less than a month ago that I was walking down the aisle.  The past two years were so filled with wedding planning that our baby surprise right at the wedding countdown just made everything even more of an amazing celebration.  We are blessed to already have a growing family.

I am sad we didn't start the baby bump pictures sooner.

Animal Lamps

Lately everything reminds me of the 80's.  It seems like they are back everwhere and anywhere...including kids rooms which just makes me laugh.

One of my friends when I was growing up had this awesome lamp and this picture just totally brought me back to those days of being a kid.  I definitely think that we will be using lots of 80's influences in our baby room because we both were children of the 80's and it seems like there is no escaping that decade for a while!

Grey Nursery Inspiration

Today is our cleaning day.  We have been back from our honeymoon for about two weeks and have done nothing with our house since before the wedding...and it shows.  Today my hubby scrubbed the house top to bottom.  He wouldn't let me near the strong chemicals he insists on cleaning with (so much for my nice organic cleansers from my single days) and he outfitted me with some thick black plastic gloves and gave me the easy jobs like dusting (with gloves on) and doing light cleaning (with gloves on).

Our big goal for the day was to clear out "my office" which has become the dumping ground for everything having to do with our wedding.  This room is our future baby room so we need to get busy and figure out what to do with all the wedding leftover stuff.

We finished the cleaning and didn't get too far with the clearing out of wedding boxes...this adorable nursery is keeping me motivated.

I really like the grey walls with the color accents.  In a month we find out if those accents will be pink or blue!

Fall Soup Time

It's fall in California...even if it is still almost 80 degrees outside.  I am going to pretend it is cold and shut myself in my house all weekend.  We haven't had a weekend at home since our wedding and it shows.  Laundry is piled everywhere, our house is dirty, our poor doggie needs a bath and our future baby room is stacked with gifts and wedding crap.

I bought a butternut squash at the fruit stand by our house last weekend so this weekend it is time for soup!  I might try this fun recipe for Baja Butternut Squash soup since I am already missing San Diego.

I am so ready for real fall weather.  Next weekend is Halloween and my hubby's birthday so I have to figure out what he wants to do and make some plans...I can't be a bad wife already!  All I really want to do is relax and watch movies, bake and enjoy each other's company.  Hopefully with a clean house and a clean doggie.  Let's see how far I get with that this weekend.

Still Me Just Different

This morning we had a little staff meeting at work and they brought in coffee and bagels. I had already devoured a bagel with cream cheese and strawberry jam from home so I didn't have a bagel only I grabbed a coffee. Not even a coffee...I grabbed about 1/4 of a cup of coffee and filled the cup with cream and sugar. I took a sip and was immediately reprimanded by one of my bosses for drinking coffee.

I probably had four sips out of the cup all morning and poured the cup out. It just got me wondering...who am I now?

I went from myself to bride in training to mom in two short years and suddenly I find myself in a whole new world with new rules and new fears and somewhere along the way this is the person I have grown into.

Every night I look at myself and barely recognize my body and it hits me...my life is changing faster than it ever has. Everyone has their opinions and their ideas only I am the only one (along with my hubby) who can really decide what our little one's life will start out as.

For now I am trying the best I know how...even if sips of coffee gets me through the day and someone has an issue with it. I am proud of myself even if the world doesn't agree with everything I do. I think I know what I am doing...at least I know I am figuring it out as I go.

Dog in Front of Fireplace

I wanted to write this cute post about how fall is finally here and how cute my dog is in the morning when we turn on the fireplace and he lays there in front of it.

I don't have a picture here at work of my dog in front of the fireplace so I asked Google...this is what I got. "Dog in front of fireplace." I am not sure who this poor guy is only the picture is from a blog about running and he brags about how hot he is and how great his runner's body is...hilarious.

The internet is awesome.

Elastic Pants and Other Fashion Adventures

I never thought I would say this...elastic pants are the coolest invention ever. Seriously. Ever since the wedding the closet has become a wasteland of really cute honeymoon outfits which will not be worn (this year at least) and work clothes that don't quite button. I had to clear out my closet just to preserve my sanity. Now the emptiness is a little more calming only still there is the morning fashion emergency when I have nothing to wear to work.

Two friends have given me bags of maternity clothes. I think it is the coolest thing how women bond together over these uncomfortable moments trying to prevent someone else from having the morning fashion emergency that begins each day. Even cooler is that most of the clothes have been passed down through multiple women...some of them have been worn by five women before me. Usually I am not one who goes for vintage wardrobe pieces...now don't get me wrong I am totally into preserving the environment and reusing and recycling only I am just not that good at vintage shopping. I will admit it! There is something really amazing about putting on a shirt and picturing each of these women going through similar experiences that I am now and all the emotions that they went through and the joys and challenges. The clothes connect me to these women and their families and makes me realize how many women have gone through what I am going through right now...it definitely makes me proud and for a moment each morning...a little less alone in my own thoughts.

I am setting out in the world strong in my new wardrobe of soft cotton t shirts, fuzzy sweaters and elastic pants. This is one pregnant girl who will conquer the world with my little one...even if I have to be accompanied by elastic to do it.

Post Wedding Letdown

Everyone warned me about the post wedding letdown only I never believed them...or thought it would be quite as depresssing as they said it would be.

My email box is empty...the vendors have all moved on to their next target and friends have lost interest. The only email I did get was a Facebook message from a friend who told me what a bad friend I was being for asking for pictures of our wedding...her life is far to busy to be bothered with petty requests like pictures from our wedding.

We are still waiting for pictures...the IPhone pictures from friends who aren't too busy for such petty requests are great only now we want the real thing!

I got a little fun last week with some IPhone videos from my hubbies good friends.

No more gifts have arrived and I am convinced that two entire tables have decided not to send anything. Seriously people...

For now we are totally occupied with our little one who is growing and changing and in one short month we find out if we are having a boy or a girl. Our little family has grown strong and we are learning that being married means having someone we can rely on even when everyone else thinks we are being petty and annoying.

I know the post wedding letdown will pass soon enough and for now I am enjoying the love of my new hubby and letting go of expectations of friends who disappoint me.

I love this adorable cake topper.

New Pans Arrive Tomorrow

As a recessionista bride I have to file one official complaint...the lack of wedding gifts. Now don't jump all over me and tell me that I shouldn't expect gifts or that I should just appreciate people attending our wedding...I agree with both arguments only I still think that getting wedding gifts is part of being a bride. Probably the most annoying are those guests who you have recently purchased gifts for and they still don't indulge you with a gift. Now I know we have a year to get gifts only knowing the guests who haven't purchased anything...I am not going to stand on my porch waiting for the FedEx guy holding my breath.

My hubby and I have always wanted a professional set of pans. We currently use a crazy mix of his college pans purchased at Costco over 10 years ago, my random pans picked up at various IKEA trips over the years...with the nonstick Teflon scratches and all. So today we throw out our sad grouping of mismatched pans because we invested in a new set of professional stainless steel pans!

We ended up using gift cards and some returned gifts and we got the one gift we have been wanting for a long time! I just found out they are on their way and should arrive tomorrow!

For now I will just settle down in my judgement of non gifting wedding guests and enjoy our new foodie adventures together...

Celebrate without Champagne

My hubby wouldn't even let me have a half of a glass of champagne at our wedding since we are expecting our first little one...instead I had a sip of champagne and a glass of sparkling apple cider.

On our honeymoon I found a fabulous new way to celebrate and still have fun with a drink that seems more decadent and adult than the apple cider alternative.

DRY Soda company features clear soda in innovative flavors like Cucumber, Juniper Berry, Kumquat, Lavender, Lemongrass, Rhubarb and Vanilla Bean.

I had the lavender and it was the perfect balance of girly fun and sophistication.

I am definitely going to serve DRY Soda at my next bridal shower or baby shower.

It's Our One Week Anniversary

You never know what you are really getting into until you are in a new family...it is a scary thing to take on a new name and new relatives and new holiday traditions and a new life.

My new Mother in Law sent my new Hubby and I a sweet One Week Anniversay card tonight at almost the exact time we walked down the aisle last week. I have to say that it was pretty cute and especially since we are in post wedding letdown day...it was a cute gesture.

All I have are some blurry pictures and some I Phone pictures so here is another one...I can't wait for our pictures from our awesome photographer Phil Paik and his wife Minae. They were amazing and most of the night I didn't even realize they were there...I had to ask people if we had photographers at our wedding reception...I remember seeing them once or twice and that is it.

Now I just have to get some sleep tonight because I am back to work on Monday. If only the wedding loveliness could have lasted one more week.

More this week...also a big thank you to all those blog readers who had important parts of our wedding. This thank you especially goes out to my amazing Mother of the Bride...who did just about everything I could have asked for and more. She needs to write a book...she was amazing.

Just to give one adorable detail about this picture...my Husband is holding my handkerchief that I dropped at the altar and I am laughing at how cute he looks carrying it down the aisle after the wedding.

Married

We are married and back home!

The wedding was perfect. I wouldn't have changed anything. As soon as I get the pictures from our photographer I will post more.

For now...I have to go sort all of our wedding decor that is currently taking up my entire living room.

Fun and Fire

This was our last weekend of wedding planning and after one completely sleepless night I am sleepily starting my last day of work tomorrow before we leave for our destination wedding.

Instead of relaxing and just sitting around we decided to pack our weekend full of really annoying and exciting tasks...you know...keep things interesting.

The weekend started off with me and my glue gun finishing our place cards. This included cutting out 54 small cards gluing them with my hot glue gun to wooden dowels which will be put in little vintage milk glass bud vases for each guest. This was the second set of place cards I got from my Mom who was cute enought to print them out for us...stupid Helena Script font and computer errors...then I tied colored ribbons (brown for chicken and green for fish) on each stick. My FI decided it was totally necessary to contact each and every one of his guests to verify their meal choices and make sure the correct person in the correct family got the correct meal...seriously what would a person do if...the husband got the wife's meal?!

Next it was on to a marathon car buying trip with my Mom who bought a sporty new little Subaru...complete with me having to put the smack down on the car dealer and then we finally headed off to my final fitting. I wasn't really in the mood for the fitting...tomorrow I pick up the dress.

Tonight we had a late night Kinkos run and print our engagement pictures and put them in frames.

The last job of the night was to email all our guests and tell them about our bonfire the night before the wedding. I am including this picture of the sign which tells visitors...in no uncertain terms that alcohol is not allowed on the beach. I tried telling my FI this and I am pretty sure he listened...only if I get any late night calls from San Diego's finest I am going to go bridezilla on everyone involved.

Time for bed! More wedding planning to do tomorrow...

One Week Countdown

In just one week I will be walking down this beautiful aisle in this beautiful Chapel to marry my future husband.

I can't believe these two years of wedding planning are almost over and that time has gone by this fast.

To add to the excitement I will be walking down the aisle with my new baby bump.

I start crying everytime I look at this picture and think about us on our wedding day in front of our closest friends and family.

We leave in four days for our destination wedding so if I don't chat with most of you before then...thank you for all your love and support!

Hot Wedding Shoes

See these amazingly cute Nina wedding shoes?! I have loved them for months...I have thought about them...entered contests to win them and sent them to friends and family to see what they thought. Want to know what my Mom said...STRIPPER SHOES. Really Mom?! (Now my Mom is one of my best blog readers and she knows I am just teasing her with this post).

I didn't buy these shoes...I didn't want to be a stripper bride so I got some boringish other shoes which I won't post here.

When I was at my dress fitting the lady said...you could try higher shoes so we don't have to alter the bottom...sold! STRIPPER SHOES...now I had an excuse!

I ordered them and let me tell you...they are so hot and cute I can barely stand it. They even come in an adorable pink box with a pink shoe bag. They are 4 1/2" heels only really they don't look that high. My dress is almost perfect on the bottom and doesn't need any alterations (good thing since the entire dress had to practically get rebuilt).

My advice...get what you want for your wedding...if you don't...you will probably end up just spending twice as much money and getting what you want after getting something you don't really like.

In other funny news...my Mom ended up buying two amazing pairs of Nina shoes...one for her adorable BCBG rehearsal dress and one for her BCBG wedding dress.

The Rehearsal Dress Swap

I finally have my rehearsal dress...again...sort of.

It all started months ago...my Mom found the cutest most perfect dress at J Crew. I knew I wanted a classy white strapless dress and this one was just perfect. She bought me a size 8. She brought it over when she came to visit one weekend and it was a little big. So we returned it to the nearest store which is about a 30-40 minute drive. We dodged a rain storm and a crowded mall just to purchase a size 6.

So last night I tried on the size 6 dress that we bought at the store and with the growing baby bump and my new larger bust size it barely zipped. It would have fit only I might have ripped it off in pain halfway through my practice walk down the aisle...which I am pretty sure Father Ben would not have appreciated.

Today my FI and I returned to another mall still a pretty long drive from our house and returned it. The dress has long since been gone from the store so I knew they wouldn't have a larger size. They didn't. Good thing I had looked online before we left the house and they did have a size 8 so I put it in my cart. I couldn't find the receipt so I was scared they would give me some crazy low price for it since it was so long ago that we bought it only the nice lady at J Crew gave me full price for it! She also offered to order me the online one so I could avoid paying shipping (I never knew you could do this from the store...good tip to know about) only the online people said it was out of stock. I told her I had one in my cart at home only she said it was probably long gone because the cart doesn't hold the dress if someone else wants it. I was sad and left the store empty handed with a gift card for the original price of the dress $98.00 so it wasn't a total loss.

I just got home...looked in my cart and suprise suprise the dress was still there...on sale for $69.99! I had to pay the $10.50 shipping so I still ended this crazy whirlwind dress swap with a $20.00 J Crew gift card! Not that it will buy me much only still...pretty fun!

Let's just hope the dress comes this week in time for me to take it with me to San Diego.

If you are having a wedding soon I totally recommend looking at all the cute white strapless dresses that are on sale at J Crew.

Did I mention it even has pockets...which has to be my fav trend of this year in dresses...

I'm Not Over It

Some of you might remember my earlier post about I'm Over It and the amazing wedding jewelry I am renting for my wedding...

I just got a box today and inside was the necklace, earrings and bracelet that I rented all for under $100 including shipping both ways.

Some people might not understand why I made the decision to rent instead of buy. Once I chose my dress I started looking at jewelry and it seemed like everything in my budget was so...cheap! I didn't want to wear cheap tacky jewelry with my beautiful wedding dress.

I heard about I'm Over It and I was sold! I love the idea that I get to have beautiful jewelry without the huge price tag.

My jewelry is so pretty! I can't believe how amazing it looks in person. The necklace is so cute I just want to wear it every day with a white t shirt and jeans! That is...if my jeans actually fit...which they don't. Time to buy some maternity jeans...

I can't wait to try on my wedding jewelry tomorrow at my dress fitting!

The I'm Over It box came complete with return shipping label so all I have to do is put it in the mail the day after the wedding! I did the 14 day rental so I could make sure I had everything in time. I also got a great email from the company telling me the jewelry was on it's way. Great customer service and product...I am more sold now than I was before!

The Stork and Posh Play and Family

I know many wedding blogs become baby blogs shortly after the big day...so why not mix things up a little bit?!

The stork will be visiting the Posh Play house next year and we are going to be parents!

Our little baby is due at the end of March so that makes me...a pregnant bride. We have realized quickly how much we don't have control over our lives and how blessings can come when they are not expected.

I have been a slow blogger lately since I just can't seem to get the energy together to say anything after working all day.

Thank you to all you lovelies for all your support during our wedding planning process. We are two weeks away!

I am just so excited to walk down the aisle with a little one with me instead of by myself.

Bedroom Redesign

We got one of our first wedding presents last week...a new California King mattress set from my Mom! I just want to lounge around in bed all day now.

This weekend we headed out and found a fabulous new comforter set, bedskirt and throw pillows. My FI looked at the throw pillows with disguist only I think they are beyond adorable and totally complete the look of the room.

My wedding colors are definitely starting to infuse their way into my life...our bedroom has now taken on a white and chocolate brown theme...let's just hope we are not totally burned out on the wedding colors after next month!

It is amazing how new accents around the house can just totally transform the look of everything.

Now I can't wait to get all our other amazing wedding presents so we can really start our life in fresh new surroundings.

This isn't my bedroom...this is a fun inspiration from ApartmentTherapy.com one of my favorite design sites.

Honeymoon Booked

Our honeymoon is all booked and we are ready to go...today! Haha.

We are going back to our favorite resort (the only resort) we have been to in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We went last year and had a great trip so we are ready to visit again!

This time we have a fancy preferred suite and our honeymoon to celebrate. We can't wait.

I can't even describe how relaxed I am right now just thinking about it...it is stupid how one little trip was stressing me out so much.

Now I know that once the wedding is behind us we will have a fabulous room, comfortable bed and all inclusive resort to indulge in!

Pretty Chic

I am finally starting to get some pictures back from my bridal shower so I will post some shortly.

For now...I just want to dream about this lovely room and what a fun day this bride looks like she is having!

Bachelorette Party Napa Style

Last night was my last bachelorette party. I used to work in Napa so I met up with my old Napa friends and we hit up Michael Chiarello's new restaurant Bottega.

It was fun. We relaxed in the outside bar area until dinner and had some fun appetizers and drinks. Then we headed inside for some salad (lots of good bread) and pasta.

We were all doing a little bachelorette quiz game and Michael Chiarello came out and asked us what we were doing. He was totally laughing and gave me the Italian two cheek kiss and wedding best. Then my friends took our picture. Can you see how embarassed I am?!

A really fun night with wonderful friends, good food and cute chefs...who could ask for more?

Vaca Needed

I am totally in need of a fun vacation!

Can I really wait until two months from now when we get a wonderful two weeks off for our wedding?!

I am counting down the days...

For now I just need a quick getaway. Instead I will be running wedding errands with my FI all weekend...the boy still has no ring...which is an issue.

I love this picture of Miranda Kerr jetsetting with her Yorkie...I have a Yorkie too so I had to post this cute little one.

Beach Dreaming

I don't want to think about wedding planning today...at all.

I want to sit in this chair with my doggie in my lap, a good book and a cup of tea.

Can someone send me a cute little beach house I can go sit in just for the afternoon?

Vintage Doggie Style

This isn't my furry friend. This one is from a post from Jennifer Perkin's blog.

How cute is this little dog bed made out of a vintage suitcase?! What a fun and easy way to have your pet travel with his bed in style.

My dog recently climbed into my Mom's suitcase the day she was leaving and we both laughed at how comfortable he was in there. I never thought of the idea of actually making his bed out of a cute suitcase.

We are still undecided about if our dog will come with us to our destination wedding or not. If he does...he might need a new vintage bed so he can be all ready for his new jetsetting life.

Two Month Countdown

We have two months to go as of today...let's just hope our San Diego wedding is as beautiful as this one by Susan Yee! She is such an amazing photographer.

I can't believe it is almost October 3. I am so ready to walk down the aisle. My Mom was in town this weekend and I tried on my dress again and remembered how much I love it. How is it possible to find the "perfect" dress that is made just for you?! Now I just need some little alterations and I will be ready to go.

My shower was this weekend too. So much to share! A big thank you to my amazing Mom for a shower I will be swooning over for years to come. More on that shortly...

Four Days Until My Shower

My shower is this Sunday...remember how I was so worried about no one RSVPing?! Now we have so many guests my Mom just had to order a bigger cake!

I can't wait for my all white, vintage style shower. My Mom is throwing it with my Aunt and Cousin and they are adorable so I know it will be amazing!

I will definitely share pictures next week!

For now I am just going to swoon over this prettiness posted by Jena D Events.

Adventures in Cake Land

The "Cake Guy" was our first appointment in San Diego. We drove all day so we were pretty wrecked by the time we arrived. Just stepping out of the car in La Jolla made me completely forget the long journey by car and I was instantly transformed into a happy tourist. There were cute boys with surf boards and pretty surfer girls in bikinis...how I miss living in a tourist town.

The Cake Guy (self proclaimed) welcomed us with a pretty white pastry box filled with cakes and pastries from their retail shop. He knew we had come a long way so he wanted to stock our hotel room for us! So cute!

The actual tasting was a blur. Neither my FI or I really are cake lovers so this was the easiest appointment yet! We pretty much decided on what we didn't like first...which was pretty easy. We ended up picking "Bridal Chiffon" which is cake with a layer of lemon cream and a layer of raspberry. So pretty!

Our other two layers we decided on without even tasting them. The Cake Guy told us his wife's fav cake is their fudge filling and fresh bananas...we love both so we went with it.

The cake is three layers and all ivory with white decoration. We didn't pick one of their standard designs. The Cake Guy took a picture I had torn out of a magazine and transformed it into exactly what we wanted! An eclectic ivory and white vintage style cake. The Cake Guy kept my magazine page so I have nothing to share with you lovlies...only two months to go!

Thank you to Flour Power in San Diego for an awesome cake experience! The Cake Guy entertained us for almost an hour with hilarious celeb sightings, wedding stories and all his adventures. It isn't often you meet such amazing and thoughtful people like him.

Back to the Bachelorette...

Beach Bound

Tomorrow night we are going to bed early and then waking up Friday morning and driving to San Diego. The boxes are packed, labeled and ready to go. Next stop...our wedding planner's studio!

Friday afternoon we get to do our cake tasting meeting...can that even really be called a "meeting" with a straight face?! After the cake meeting we are off to pick up my FI's grandfather and take him out to dinner to our rehearsal dinner location...we have never been there so we'll see what happens.

Saturday morning is my hair and makeup trial...I am really excited. After the last one...I am ready to be pampered! Then Saturday evening is our engagement pictures! My FI is concerned about where we are going to change...hilarious...if only my only concern for the whole weekend was where I was going to change from a white shirt and shorts to a black shirt and jeans. I love boys.

These lovely beach pictures are from this fabulous blog.

Hottie Mom

My Mom was hilarious...when we first started looking at dresses for her for the wedding all she wanted was some matronly looking suit. The thing is...my Mom is...totally hot! I wanted her to look great on my day.

We searched and hit up Nordies where we found her an amazing BCBG dress that is just perfect on her. It has the coverage she wanted and she still looks amazing and hot!

I saw this great sale on Ideeli today...Tadashi gowns for a fraction of the regular prices...most of the gowns are only around $100 and they are usually over $200 or more!

Have your mom take a look!

All moms should be hot on your day...if you need an invitation to Ideeli here it is! These dresses would be great for anyone...I just think they are super hot for all those amazing moms out there.

Another Reason to Keep the Boy Around

I just started packing up all the boxes that we are bringing down to our wedding planner.

I am pretty sure we are going to need to put one of us on the roof of the car! It is an eight hour drive so that would not be fun.

I can't believe how many things I have been planning, ordering and collecting for our wedding ceremony and reception! Two more days to get organized...these boxes are heavy.

7 Bamboo Lanterns
6 Wrought Iron Mexican Style Lanterns
2 Wrought Iron Candle Holders
144 Plain Clear Glass Votive Holders
72 Hobnail Clear Glass Votive Holders
2 Engagement Picture Dresses
3 Pairs of Shoes
2 Sets of Jewelery
1 Suitcase Full of Clothes For the Trip

This is just my part of the baggage...let's just try to get the FI to pack light!

This lovely picture is from Apartment Therapy.

Bridal Shower Excitement Returns

I was totally freaking out because only like three people had RSVPd for my bridal shower as of Friday...then my Mom called me tonight and said we had six RSVPs just today!

I am going to stop stressing and just enjoy things from now on...I don't know why I stress?!

I have an amazing fiance and great friends!

Engagement Picture Outfit Number 2

I have one outfit all picked out and ready to go only I was still looking for outfit number two...until last night!

The garage sale was a success...we left with almost $400 so I spent my half on a new outfit for our pictures.

Anthropologie sucked me in with this cute little dress and necklace and then I got some fun Spanish looking earrings at Forever 21 and some cute new gladiator strappy sandals at Go Jane.

Another thing...where has Go Jane been all these years? I might have a new favorite shoe store! I love that you can get adorable trendy shoes for under $20...with free shipping if you spend over $50. I spent around $65 and got three pairs of shoes and a sundress!

Outfit complete and San Diego we are now ready for you!

This is the outfit I am going to wear in the Old Town part of our engagement picture photo shoot...I like the Spanish vibe and it should be cute with the background.

Garage Sale Weekend

Tomorrow my Mom and I are having a pre-wedding garage sale to raise money for our fabulous (depending on how much we make) beach house in San Diego for the wedding.

My goal is $400. Let's see if we can do it! A recessionista has to do whatever it takes to have a fabulous relaxing wedding week!

A question for you lovlies...

Does anyone RSVP for showers anymore? My Mom only got four so far and one was a no. The shower is in two weeks. I am starting to get sad.

My bridal shower is in two and a half weeks!

My Mom, Aunt and Cousin are throwing it at my house. The theme is "Garden Party" and all the flowers are white. I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Balloons Anyone

I admit...I have been totally obsessed with engagement pictures lately...ours are in a week and a half and I am starting to freak out a little.

One trend which always intrigues me is these huge balloons in many of the engagement pictures I see. I saw a great post on The Wedding Chicks which I thought I would repost for those of you who are just as interested in balloons as I am.

For a 36″ balloon visit ballonsfast.com, they have a ton of colors and even oversize heart balloons…so cute.

Bridezilla in Training

Just a quick vent because I have to get back to work...lunch is almost over...

-If one more person in my life lectures me on the frivolousness of my wedding and "how could I do an event for myself and expect anyone to attend in this economy" I seriously might kick them in the face.

-If one more person gives me a riciculous excuse for why they can't attend wedding events or the wedding I am going to write a book of stupid excuses that no one in their right mind would believe.

-If one more person tells me to calm down and not get flustered I don't know what I am going to do...

I really am starting to understand the making of a bridezilla. I don't get how we support and love so many people in our lives through good and not so good and when it is our turn to celebrate and be excited it is like people find pleasure in bringing us down.

Now don't jump all over me here and tell me that I am overreacting, being crazy, taking things out of context...what the bottom line is that some people really don't want others to be happy! That is what I am realizing...and it is a sad realization that hurts...I really think bridezillas are created out of normal girls who just get fed up with being hurt, pushed around and made to think they are self-centered brats...

Now I am going back to work and tonight I will be mailing out invitations to people who are bitter, upset and all around hating us for having a wedding 400 miles away...the happiest day of our lives!

France...It's Official

It's official. My Mom and I finalized our plans for our December flyaway to France this morning! I am so excited I don't even know what to say. My Mom and I have never travelled abroad together so what an adventure it will be!

We will spend 7 beautiful days in the French countryside just two months after our wedding. My FI will probably join us too...depending on work.

How darling is my Mom?! Read her email from today...

Okay. Once the trip gets closer, we should each make a list of things we want to see and do....on my list is visiting Giverny, Claude Monet's home and garden. I've always wanted to go there. Between your wedding and this trip, how much excitment can one person handle--me, I mean...!

I got so inspired by France today I had to post this lovely Paris inspired bridal shower idea.

Milk Glass Vases Found

Remember how the antique dealer told me it was "impossible" to find the milk glass vases I need? I found 5 today! Now only 12 more to go and I have 85 days...

I also got a really cute milk glass bowl for our candy bar. So much for paying shipping on Ebay!

Tomorrow my goal is to figure out how to run our invitation envelopes through our printer so I can get them in the mail next week. Exciting!

I sorta didn't want to post this...fine I really didn't want to because I really want to win these gorgeous earrings!

Only then I realized...if I don't win then I at least want one of you lovelies to win. So here you go...Friday fun! Go to this blog to win...

I am waiting for my FI to get home from work so we can have a little dinner date...until then I will be swooning over these earrings and dreaming of this dress I want from Chickdowntown to pair them with for a romantic little rendevouz on our honeymoon in three months.

Let the Milk Glass Search Begin

If anyone is looking for me this weekend...I will be antique shopping!

On my shopping list? Milk glass! I still need 18 milk glass bud vases and some bowls and trays for our candy bar.

A local antique dealer told my coworker it would be "impossible" for me to find 18...grrrr...you know I love a challenge!

I am turning into such a bargain shopper and it is so fun. I love finding little deals and antique finds...it is so exciting to have little pieces (or many pieces) of history just sitting there looking pretty.

Thank you to Apartment Therapy for these cute pictures.

More Stamps for the Passport

Do I seem totally preoccupied by all things French this week?!

So my Mom's boss gave her a week in his timeshare anywhere in the world...we are deciding on where would be fun and neither of us are good decision makers...my vote...France!

Our trip would be two months after the wedding and we would be in a small village in Normandy. I can just see it now...strolling by the River Seine...fresh baked croissants and tea on our balcony...shopping the local markets...oh and did I mention I can eat whatever I want because the wedding will be behind us...haha.

I love these cute French inspired wedding ideas from One Wed's wedding blog and posted by blogger It's a Jaime Thing.

See you in France!
